I work and work on the canvas work and never seem to make any significant progress. I have finished the back cover so I suppose that counts. But, I am never going to use old recycled thread again. It's alright for practse but not for anything else.
I have another 3" of knitting before I join the sleeves to the body of the jumper. (I had to unpull quite a bit because I was listening to the "Classic 100 piano" and didn't concentrate properly.)
And (drum roll) I have finally finish my breakfast cloth.
I started this back in about 2007 I think. I had some left over zig zag braid and decided to hand stitch it to a piece of gingham fabric. Then, I wanted to practice mitred corners, so I hand stitched the hem but it looked too plain. Whilst I was in France I bought a sample pack of fabric from Provance and then thought I would use this to practice my needle turn applique.
I must have had a brain melt down because I thought I had finished the cloth and gave all that fabric to a friend. So the cloth languished in the "too hard" box. But, my friend Angela found some similar fabric so I was able to finish the flowers but they needed leaves. It was the leaf stage that the Rheumatoid Arthritis set in. I think there is a notable difference in the before and after stages of the stitching from the onset of this disease, I know it became a lot more painful to stitch. So there is another one crossed of my "to be finished list."
What a delightful breakfast table you now have! Yellow is such a sunny colour and suitable for breakfast outdoors. How long will you be able to eat al fresco?

Not my precious standard but it will do.
