A few more health problems
June 20, 2025
I suppose it is to be expected at my age, but my health has been an ongoing problem since my last cancer operation. I suppose what I am saying is that I might just dissapear at any time. So, I want to take the opportunity to thank everyone who has read and commented on this blog over the last 17 or 18 years, now while I can. (Too late if I pop off suddenly.)
I started it when I was travelling as a way of keeping in touch with friends and family. Then it became a way to share projects with other teachers and students, and finally, it became a great indulgence.
I used to keep dairies but a blog is a far better way to document things. You can't get to "long winded" and you can store you photos here as well.
Thank you for - yes, it must be close to 18 years since I started blogging, too! - 18 years of interesting posts to read and thank you, too, for your constant encouragement on my blog.
I hope you don't disappear on us suddenly, but it's good to have an opportunity to say Thank You anyway!

I just learned about your work today and found your blog. I’m not sure this is appropriate, but I just wanted to express that I’m so sorry to hear about your health problems. I hope you prevail and live a long happy life. You seem to have brought much joy to the world with your teachings. Thank you for sharing your experience with the world.

From a stranger-friend across the sea, I just want to say I have much appreciation for your blog. I do not know many older-than-me women and so hearing your honesty about your struggles (craft-wise, health-wise, age-wise, and so on) and how you carry on through them as best you can is truly inspiring to me when I am feeling my own bad days. I guess you’re a bit of a mentor in that way! So, before it is too late: I appreciate you and hope your future is as bright as possible, however long it takes to “pop off”.
