A new book
Another way of doing it.

A new interest

I have a long list of blogs that I visit but over the last few years many of them are no longer active.  Some have moved over to other platforms like Instagram and You Tube and some have just closed.  This had led me to wandering around cyber space and when I had a comment from Leslie who included some of the work she was doing I wandered some more.  In her comment she mentioned Kawandi Quilting.

I have now found a new 'rabbit hole'.

I find the history of this subject interesting, so here is a video from Joe Cunningham. (Joe has had a spot on The last Homely House.) It is 46 mins long, so you need to have some time to view it.  In it the story is told of how Margaret Fabrizo uncovered the history of this type of quilting.

This form of quilting is done by hand, so it is slow stitching, the quilting stitch is similar to Boro.  I can see a link between this and other direction, such as Improvisational Quilting, that quilters are exploring today.

So as I said a new rabbit hole.
