I think I have been sold a furphy?
New fabric, new designer.

Back to the portraits

It has been a little while since I stitched my last portrait.  I still have a lot to go in the series I am working on.  I just couldn't motivate myself to get going again.  But, I have now rescued the old photo and drawn an outline, even selected the threads I want to stitch with.

These are photos I took back in the late 1990's.  They were taken on the night of a dinner for a Xmas function for my quilting group.  Because they were taken at night some of the details, like the hair, is not really clear.  I am just going to have to wing this one.

You might find that winging it produces a more lively result!

You are so good at drawing these portraits, both with pencil and then with needle and thread.
Why not use a dark brown with grey undertones for the hair - the hair is obviously not light in colour, nor would I guess it's black.

I think her hair was greying.  I have stitched the members that have passed as sketches.  This series are those that have left the group so they are sketches with stitched patterned areas included.  The present members I plan to stitch in full colour.
