A bit out of left field

As a child I learnt Irish Dancing and Scottish Dancing but never Welsh Dancing.

I used to love dancing of all kinds and qualified as a classical ballet teacher in my teens.  If I could I would still be dancing today but my knees are not to good after a number of operations on my ligaments.  (This damage was caused by too much netball.)  I think I liked the tapping of the Irish dancing best so it was a big surprise to find that the Welsh had a tradition of this as well.  They called it clogging which is the name it goes by in many parts of rural USA.

I found this old 1950's video.  It shows how the cloggs are made and the history of the dance.  You will need a cup of tea and 15mins to sit and enjoy this.  Was life ever really this simple?
