Whilst surfing the net looking for images of Kogin embroidery I came across an antique booklet of Semamori Patterns at Sri threads and I had to find out just what that was.

The post began;

"In Japan, there is acertain magic associated with stitching..."  

That was it, my full attention was centred on finding out more.  I am now charting the symbols and intend to sew them onto singlets for babies, of which there are always more arriveing.  This should make a change from roses and the like.  I will post them as I have them stitched along with the pattern as a free download.
