A modern looking old piece of work

I found this image of what I think is an evening bag but it might just be a curiosity piece.  I would have loved to get a close up look at this one.


It appears to be all stitched and is from Elizabethan  times.  It is from the Ashmolean Museum University of Oxford and was displayed as part of the exhibition of 'Elizabeth and her People' that showed at the National Gallery in London.

I saw another like it in the Cheapside Hoard exhibition at the Museum of London a few weeks ago. The Tudors must have had a thing about frogs!

I would like a closer look at the detail but museums dont set up their displays for Embroiderers.
