Home again, home again, giggidy gig.

A whole week with no internet, well non except my phone. It has been trying but I was so busy I didn't have time to be worried about it. I will post about my adventures later. I had no idea that having a good time could be so tiring!!
One thing I did do was a two day class with Christine Bishop at Mosman Needlework. At this stage I am thinking about making two of these bird cage sewing baskets. I might think again when I finish the first one. It will take me a least a year to finish the piece but that is OK. This piece is a six sided work box featuring a variety of counted stitches. The lined box contains needlework accessories i.e. needle case, scissor fob, scissor case, pin cushion etc. It is worked on 30 count natural Belgian linen with DMC #814 threads. All those little birds are peti point over one thread and the four sided stitch is over two threads. ( You can see other class examples here.)
I rushed back this morning to teach now that is over I have to prepare for classes this weekend. No rest for the wicked.
It's a beautiful bird cage sewing basket, but too many tiny stitches for me. It would take more than a year!
Pencil in some rest time in your busy schedule, please!
