Stitch 49: Knotted Feather Stitch
First row of the stitch in a fine pearl thread and second row worked over the top of this in a heavier pearl thread. Chain Stitch in the branch of the feather stitch and finished with french knots and pearl beads
I didn't do all the stitches last year because I had many of them already in my folio of stitches. I'm hoping to get two birds with the one stone with TAST this year. I have made a heap of little felt pin cushions. I made these by covering coke bottle tops and a stuffed circle of felt for the cushion. A great place to try out the stitches, not so large an area that it can't be finished in resonable amount of time and all of the pin cushions will be donated to the Queensland Embroiderers Guild for the sale table.

Beautiful!
What a good idea to make bottle top pin cushions.
I am also working on something where the Knotted Feather stitches will be layered and other stitches used for added decoration.

Thanks. I have so many things I want to stitch this year I had to pick something doable for TAST or else I would become discouraged and drop out. This I can manage.

A great idea, and so many people will find the pincushions useful!

Great idea for the sales table too - the Canberra guild also runs a sales table to raise money so I know they will be appreciated

What a great idea. I could see these working great with elastic as wee wrist pincushions too - no poking yourself through the pincushion!

And they are quite quick to embroider

They work really well with elastic, either for the wrist or the finger.

Very sweet, and a lovely way to keep up with the stitches.
