How many times does this happen? You think a project will be really simple and what originally starts out as an easy project ends up taking lots of time. This cot quilt falls into that category.
I bought a cheater panel and was going to back and quilt it. Easy. But then I looked at it and it wasn't really the right shape. Just cut it down the middle. Then it didn't look balance so cut each of the pictures separately. Then this looks worse. In the end you have a piece that is a lot of sewing.
Then when I came to quilt it I was just going to sew down all the joins but then the animals in their frames looked odd. So I outlined the animals and the frames looked really odd so they had to be quilted as well. Trying to free motion quilt on lines is a challenge. Still, here it is finished. I washed it in the machine and dried it in the dryer to make sure it would stand up to the kind of treatment it will receive and it survived. Hope it survives my grand daughter.

I guess this is the needlework equivalent of what software engineers call "feature creep"... Never mind, it was well worth the effort!
