Looking back to when I began teaching in a high school I remember this song and it embodied all I wanted to give to my students. Not just knowledge but a belief in themselves. Now the singer of that song is dead. So much talent, such beauty but claimed by her deamons.
When I hear this song I say a little prayer for all those kids. I hope life has been kind to them.
All you can do is give them encouragement and support at the time and hope they will find it elsewhere as well..
