There is some remarkable old movie footage surfacing on You Tube. These are wonderful for teaching as your can show events as they were happening. My second teaching area is History and I am always looking for ways to make my teaching more relevant for my students. There is a whole body of footage concerning women's history. I didn't realise that women played football in the 1920's. This one of a suffragette's procession in Trafalgar Square led by Sylvia Pankhurst that resulted in a riot is classic. They are all from the BFI National Archive and you can watch 1000 other complete films and TV programmes free of charge at their site. http://www.bfi.org.uk/mediatheque
