I had forgotten that I had ordered this book and it was a pleasant surprise when it arrived in the mail.
Kathna, the Embroidered Quilts of Bengal is 290 pages with over 250 colour plates.
I had seen some of the commercial copies of this work but never the originals OH Boy, what have I been missing.
So, I thought that I would Google it and see what came up. There were 288,000 hits. That is going to take some time to get through! One that caught my eye was Design Flute which had an article about these designs being used in fashion and the designer recognising the work of the embroiderers.
This book is not light reading. It is one where you sit and savor every word. So only a few pages a day. I have been waiting for a special book to use my bookmark that Anita made me, this is it.
